October’s flavor of the month is Apple Caramel

Don’t let autumn pass by without getting your caramel apple fix! Mitchell’s Ice Cream and Candy is combining what they do best. This absolutely perfect balance of tart granny smith and fresh sweet caramel will pick you right up.

1  8″ pie-crust with tin(a buttery crust would be best) we do not need a top crust

1  pint of Mitchell’s Apple Caramel Ice Cream

1  ounce of chopped peanuts

Caramel sauce to taste


What to do:

First things first get your crust set! If you bought a pre-baked crust go ahead to the next step; otherwise bake your pie shell until you just barely see a color change, and let it cool down. Refrigerate the crust to chill it before continuing with the rest of the recipe. Fill the bottom of the crust with about half of your peanuts. Scoop in the ice cream and use a spoon to smooth and fill your pie crust evenly. If you choose drizzle with caramel or caramel sauce, and lastly finish off with the remaining nuts. Now pop your pie in the freezer, serve cold and topped with whipped cream. This dessert is a great compliment to family meals.
